Princeton University, Economics, African-American Studies, 2006
Dominique? Reese is a SCS Alumni, Princeton University, Class of 2006. She majored in Economics and earned a Certificate in African-American Studies. As a South Central Scholar, in the Summer of 2003, she worked with Capital Strategies in Los Angeles, an investment group with David Hou (a Board member of The SCS). Mark Sear, a partner at Capital Strategies, became Dominique?s mentor the following year and funded her South Central Gifted Scholar Fund scholarship for the remainder of college years. Both men inspired her to pursue economics and financial analysis at Princeton and thus at Merrill Lynch.
Upon graduation, Dominique? was offered a full-time position at Merrill Lynch. In Fall 2007, she transitioned to Private Wealth Management and joined an established wealth advisory team, as Junior Partner, where she managed approximately $4 million in assets and liabilities. In 2009, Dominique? developed the SCS Alumni Association?s College Access Conference & Institute, with the help of SCS Executive Director, Meredith Curry. The conference and institute was created to teach middle school students about college. As Early Outreach Director for the SCS AA, Dominique? manages the College Access Institute, developed the curriculum and teaches it once a month, in Los Angeles, at various host colleges.
